The ancient port of Samos is an ancient port on the island of Samos, in the area where Pythagorion is located today, whose existence is known from the writings of the historian Herodotus. According to Herodotus, the port of Samos had a very large breakwater. Herodotus described this mole as the most advanced example of Greek engineering of its time.
